How Do I Sign Up For Obamacare?

If you are self-employed (like me) or otherwise don’t have access to health insurance through your job, you can sign up for it through the Affordable Care Act (aka – ACA/ Obamacare).

The current Trump administration doesn’t like the program and as such has cut the funding to notify people about it by 90%.  So consider this post my public service announcement.  Also, please share this info if you know someone needs coverage.

I just renewed our family coverage last night and actually saved money from what we paid last year.  The website is fairly easy to use to compare plans.

When is Open Enrollment?

November 1 – December 15

What About Pre-Existing Conditions?

Thanks to the ACA women cannot be charged more than men for insurance and you can get coverage, even if you have pre-existing conditions.

Can I Afford Coverage?

The ACA was created to make health insurance affordable to as many people as possible.  If you qualify you can get financial assistance.  Many people can find plans that are less than $100/mo.  Make sure you read the plans.  Some monthly plans are cheaper but you have a higher deductible.  Compare plans and see what makes sense to you.
