Evil Chocolate Bunnies

bikini sweats Easter Sunday started my 12 week countdown to the Adela Garcia Classic.  For those of you rational people out there who have no idea what a female bodybuilding show prep is like, allow me to share.

Cardio increases big time.  Diet gets VERY strict.  Six meals a day, mostly egg whites and like 1/3 of a cup of brown rice.  No salt.  No artificial sweeteners.  No protein pudding.  No alcohol.

If you break any of these rules you will end up on your trainer’s s*** list.  He/she will glare at you as if to say, “Go to Hell.  Go directly to Hell.  Do not pass Go.  Do not collect $200.”

Knowing that a) my 12 week countdown was approaching and b) my five-year-old likes to nark me out to my trainer I handed both items effectively thus:

Saturday, 3/30/13

Lisa:  “I would like to eat a chocolate bunny tomorrow before my 12 week diet down.  R u ok with this?  I want it in writing in case my kid asks for it.

Mel:  “Bahaaa!!  Absolutely 🙂  enjoy!

I was then instructed to take my progress pics immediately upon waking and email them to her (along with my weight) and enjoy the bunny thereafter.

Wow!  I got a note from the teacher that says I can eat a chocolate bunny!!!!!

Why not celebrate this victory with half a bag of Tostitos and salsa while watching old episodes of Mad Men?

Sunday, 3/31/13

Morning starts and ends.  Ushered with the husband for Easter service for Austin Stone.  (15,000+ people attended!  Texans love them some Jesus!)  Did not take the progress pictures.  Did eat two egg-potato-cheese tacos served to all church volunteers.

Afternoon starts and ends.  I text Mel that I will be taking a nap and will send pics later.  I’m sure sleep will magically burn several thousand calories, giving me abs of steel for my photo shoot.

6:37 p.m.

One should not allow photos of oneself to be taken in a posing bikini after eating crap all day.

I sent the pictures.

Lisa:  Ok, so about my weight…

Confessed the gory details.  Acknowledged my off season pics were better than those pathetic pics from this morning afternoon evening.  Hu-mil-i-ty:  12 Week Progress Pics.

Mel:  Oh well – gets ya motivated!

Evil chocolate bunnies.

Do you ever go a little crazy with the food right before you know you’re about to start a diet?

Lisa ;)

  1. You’re hilarious. I love your honesty when you do wrong and your dedication when you need to buckle down. Right now I am trying my best to not get up and raid my kid’s Easter Basket.

  2. I am so happy that there are healthy, courageous and passionate people like you, who also remember to enjoy life and can let go of perfection sometimes. You are a star in every way!

  3. I am interested in seeing your daily diet for the next 12 weeks! Keep us posted. Rice and egg whites? That sounds intense! But then again to get out of the normal results, you need to do out of the normal diets. I am not sure if I could do that! So, cheers to your chocolate bunny!

    1. It is pretty intense, but healthy. Every meal has proteins, carbs, veggies and there are some healthy fats in there too. I won’t be able to post the diet. This is how my trainer makes her living after all. But a healthy diet I used in the off season is posted in the section titled “free!! the bikini diet”
