How Do You De-stress?

Every winter I get very patriotic because if I don’t I get really angry about all the taxes I have to pay.  Also, I’m a small business owner which means I have to deal with irate independent contractors wanting me to under-report their incomes.  Um, no.

So tax preparation + sugar detox diet + regular mommy crap (laundry, PTA homework, dinner, etc.) + shoulder injury + low income filing due + people yelling at me all day+ p.s. I’m turning 39 in two weeks =

I’M SO STRESSED OUT I CAN’T SEE STRAIGHT

On the plus side I do not have the flu.  Also, clearly nothing is life-threatening.  I’m just having a crap week.

Here are some things I came up with to lower my cortisol levels:

  1. Visualize person(s) driving you nuts.  Insert kickboxing DVD and pretend they are the target.
  2. Take a break from taxes to fold laundry.  (Yes, this is the single instance where laundry is the preferred choice of task.)
  3. Fantasize about selling your family business and moving to Costa Rica.

How do you de-stress?
