I’m so sorry, but I will NEVER EVER EVER post a picture of that :)

Blogging is a lot of fun and I try to cover different topics in my posts.  People who read my posts will tend to ask me one of three things:

  1. Do you really do 400 lunges a day with a 60 lb. bar on your back?  (Yes, yes I do.)
  2. Does Daniel really call you out that much? (Yes, yes he does.)
  3. Are you ever going to post a picture of your stomach before the skin tightening?  (Hell to the NO!)

I think you will agree I’m pretty open in general about telling you the good, the bad, and the ugly about my fitness journey but even I have my limits.

I’m happy to report that the skin tightening with Simply Skin is working.  Yay!  The first session had more dramatic results than the second session, which is what Elizabeth told me to expect, but this week I’m seeing my stomach come back together.

If you work out at the same 24 Hour Fitness as me (and you happen to work out at 4 a.m.) you will notice that I will only do ab exercises in a giant t-shirt.  This is to cover from view the mother’s apron wanting to remain on the floor as I lift into a plank position.  It is nasty, embarrassing, and trust me:  you do not want a photo of it.  Yes, train wrecks can sustain a person’s attention, but I just can’t post my skin’s train wreck shot.  OK – if you really, really want a visual, look at this cute dog and then imagine those wrinkles all over my belly.  There you go.

But like I was saying, my excess skin is being absorbed back into my body due to the collagen stimulation (the body is amazing, isn’t it?)  Currently the only area that is still loose and yucky is right under my belly button; not bad considering it used to be the entire length of my midsection.

In fact, I like the results so much I’m going to schedule an appointment to zap where my double chin used to hang out.  That area is not really a big deal, but I figure it’s worth $60 to just beam it away versus buying a zillion skin firming creams and/or being annoyed looking at it in the mirror daily.  Elizabeth said the area under a person’s chin only needs one treatment for the collagen to be stimulated.

My last tummy session is next week and I’m excited about getting my skin looking normal again.  If you’ve ever had a baby and your skin hasn’t snapped back or, like me, you’ve lost a lot of weight and don’t want a constant saggy reminder of your former self, I highly recommend skin tightening.  It’s non-surgical, can be done during a lunch break and at $60 a session (with promo code SHES LOSING IT) is very, very affordable.

Here is the contact info if you are interested.  The promo rate is good until November 3, 2012:

  1. I’ve thought a bout this a few times as dropping 80 pounds in 6 months (2 years ago now) has left me with that same saggy skin. It’s better than it was at the time, but still annoying.

    1. First – congrats again about losing 80 lbs!!! Everything I’ve read says it takes about 2 years for your body to absorb excess skin back into your system; after that your only other option might be surgical. I went with the skin tightening because I could afford it, and I am loving the results. Hope you can find one near you!
