Fitness Cheerleader wants to know:  What Are Your 5 Must Have Foods?

1.  Peanut butter on rice cake.  It’s a quick protein/carb combine and gets my energy up instantly.  It’s also very portable and works well when I’m shuffling the kids to and fro.

2.  Sweet potatoes.  Holy cow these things rock!  I never ate a sweet potato until I started bodybuilding but now I’m hooked.

3.  Raspberry-cranberry sparking water.  It has the fizziness of Diet Pepsi without all the baggage.  Plus, I can drink it all the way up to three weeks before competition.  (After that point, no fizzies.  Period.)

4.  I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Spray.  Zero calories.  Zero fat.  Tastes like butter.  But only 5 sprays or my trainer will yell at me for going overboard.

5.  Chocolate Chip Cookies.  I realize this is not remotely healthy but life with a homemade chocolate chip cookie once in a while is not worth living.  Yeah, I said it.

How about you?  What are your 5 must have foods?

  1. 1. Peanut Butter. I have begun making our own because here in South Korea all they have is Jiff and its gross!
    2. Tomatoes… I eat them like apples, cut them up toss them in vinegar, I eat them any and all ways
    3. Balsamic Vinegar and Mustard… best condiments ever
    4. Chocolate… of any sort (i need a little bite here and there, it balances all the spicy food here)
    5. Water, I drink 4 liters a day, but if water doesn’t count… coffee then, I drink 2 cups a day. I can’t help it.

  2. 1. Seltzer. Why no fizz before competition? I think I killed my nerves in my tongue with years of soda, and it’s hard to drink flat water.
    2. Mushrooms!
    3. Zucchini and yellow squash and onions
    4. Greek yogurt – my new fav! I use it in place of sour cream an salad dressing. (add balsamic and garlic power for salad dressing.
    5. Frozen yogurt/ice cream. Need a frozen fix! Sometimes fruit smoothies cut it, sometimes they don’t.

    2.

    1. Yummy!

No fizz before competition because it bloats your tummy; not a good look for bikini.
Finally broke down and tried Chobani Greek yogurt, vanilla flavor. I love it! I guess I just bought the wrong flavor the first time.

Stay away from ice cream. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
