Magic Mike XXL Pole Dance Party
Who needs a girls night out?!?
Lots of you have been asking me about pole dancing classes but have said you’re a little shy. Well do I have a class for you!
My friend, Serena Hicks, owns Bon Bon Barre, a boutique pole dance studio in Austin. This Friday, July 3rd, she’s having a two hour Level 1(that’s for beginners) pole fitness/pole dance workout followed by a field trip to the Alamo Drafthouse to see the movie Magic Mike XXL.
You don’t need any dance experience whatsoever, just try it out and have a good time. The workout will be set to the songs from the Magic Mike soundtrack and will include flexibility stretches, ab work, sexy push-ups (yes, they exist) and, of course, simple pole tricks.
Women who take the class come in all shapes, sizes and fitness levels (you must be at least 18 years old.) I can tell you from personal experience that Serena is great at making you feel comfortable in your own skin. She choreographed one of my dances for my first pole competition and she also helped me figure out how to balance in five inch heels and still look graceful for my bodybuilding competitions.
The class plus movie is $45. If you can’t make the class but just want to join us for the movie, ’cause, you know, it’s Magic Mike, the tickets are $17.50 and you can meet us there.
