Progress Pictures – 6 Weeks

It’s six (6) weeks until my next bodybuilding bikini competition and I feel that surge of panic/excitement that always comes with a fast-approaching show.

Here are some basic updates:

Food

Happy birthday, Rylee!

My carbs have been cut, so that makes me sleepy.  And a little grouchy, because like any good Irish lass I like to eat potatoes.  Also, my daughter turned 10 (T-E-N) this weekend so I had to deal with the ramifications of realizing I had been a mother for a decade without the benefit of eating birthday cake.  (But I ate cookies ‘n’ cream protein pudding while everyone else ate cake and froze some real cake for myself for after the show, so it’s all good.  #DelayedGratification.)

Exercise

I’m playing time management Tetris to get in all the cardio and strength training.  Most days I’m able to get up at 4 a.m. to do cardio, followed by meal 1 and strength training at 6 a.m., a brief nap at home, and then train my own clients at 8 a.m.  My leg workout last week left me beyond sore, but hopefully I’ll see some good definition come stage-time.

My coach, Robin, has given me a goal to reach and once I get there he will take pictures or short videos of some of my exercise routines.

Posing

6 weeks until the show

I’ve practiced my poses about 450 times so far.  The goal is to reach 1,000 poses by the show date.  This is one of those examples of the saying ‘There are no shortcuts’.  I wish I only needed to practice a couple of times but I don’t want nerves to mess me up so I’m practicing until my body has every movement memorized.

Bikini

My bikini is coming!  My bikini is coming!  It’s super sparkly and pretty and I can’t wait to try it on.

Hair

I’ve been searching Pintrest for cute hairstyles with purple highlights.  I think this will be the week!

Costa Rica

So, my husband, Henri, is one of those analytical people who will search for hours online to find the cheapest flight and hotel rate.  Personally, I’m more of an Expedia.com type gal, but he’s doing the research now.  We have the passports and now we just need the tickets…honey?
