Jaye’s Clean Angel Decadent Dessert

 Jaye’s Clean Angel Decadent Dessert

When we were in Phoenix, Arizona a few years ago, we stayed with Henri’s cousin, Jaye.  At the time I had just finished my first bodybuilding bikini competition and was mildly terrified that a) I’d gain all the weight back and b) I would never be able to eat anything beyond fish and asparagus.

The timing was actually perfect because it was the off season for bodybuilding for me; my next competition was several months away.

This was the clean dessert she created for me:

Step 1:  Cut angel food cake into quarters.

Step 2: Pour Chobani Vanilla Greek yogurt over cake.  (A nice replacement for ice cream and it has a ton of protein too.)

Step 3:  Add fresh berries.  She used 1/3 cup strawberries, 1/3 cup blueberries and 1/3 cup blackberries.

Step 4:  Add French Vanilla low-cal whipped cream.

Step 5:  Eat and enjoy!

  • Calories: 361
  • Angel food cake= 129
  • Chobani vanilla Greek yogurt= 120
  • 1/3 cup strawberries= 18
  • 1/3 cup blueberries= 28
  • 1/3 cup blackberries= 21

French vanilla whipped light cream=It’s 15 calories for 2 Tbsp, but clearly I used a little bit lot more, so let’s go with 45 calories.

To really be clean, just eat the fruit and yogurt and skip the cake, but it is called Decadent Dessert after all…and did I mention I had it on vacation?  (It was REALLY good.)

What about you?  What’s your favorite clean recipe?  (Does not have to be dessert.)
