Get Your Ducks in a Row

We’ve survived the first week of January.  Yes!  I don’t know about you, but personally I’ve been trying to get all my ducks in a row and the little f***ers keep flying in all different directions.

For example, my website is under construction, and it’s going to look so cool…when it’s done…Every time I think it’s done, a change needs to be made or something I think I saved wasn’t saved at all.  #MiddleAgedProblems

As long as we’re using fowl analogies, let me just tell you that technology has cooked my goose.  You have no idea how many hours I spent last night trying to get the photos off my phone and into my computer so I could install the GroupMe app on my phone (which didn’t have enough storage without me dumping pictures.)

You know what else flew south for the winter?  My will power.  Nothing looks quite so wonderful to me as baked sugar.

I met with my coach, Robin, for the first time last week since an extended holiday from the gym and he asked me what my fitness goals were.

“Well, I want to maybe do a Battlefrog obstacle course in LA in February, and start pole dancing again, do a bodybuilding competition but I’m not sure which one, the Spartan Race is sometime in the spring, and then also train to be an action hero, so I want to do Parkour and learn how to use a light saber.”

He extended his arms wide out to the sides and then brought his hands together far in front of him and clapped.  “You need to get your ducks in a row and focus.  What’s your fitness goal?”

“I want to do Drop Zone on April 30th and win my bikini pro card.”

“Good.  Stop eating like crap.”

And that’s why I pay him money.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still doing pole dancing and learning how to use a light saber because those are valuable skills should there ever be a zombie apocalypse, but my primary focus for the next four months will be my true love, bodybuilding.

Gotta fix my final draft of the website and go to bed.  I have fasted cardio at 4 a.m. followed by training at 5 a.m.  The early bird catches the pro card.

How about you?  Are you a little scattered right now?  Focus on one big goal and go for it!
