Feeling Discouraged?
It’s easy to get discouraged. “I’ll never lose the baby fat.” “I’ll never have a flat stomach again.” “I’m too old; my metabolism is too slow.” “There just aren’t enough hours in the day…”
I get it.
When you are feeling down, here are a few things to remember:
- You are in control of your life. If you aren’t satisfied, you have the power to change.
- This is temporary. Your present circumstances don’t have to be permanent. Things might be tough now, but this too shall pass if you are willing to put in the hard work.
- Remember your motivation. Think how far you’ve come. Focus on where you want to be six months from now. Do you want more energy? Do you want to set an example for your kids so they don’t have to go through the same yo-yo diet experiences you did? Don’t you deserve to be healthy?

You are stronger than you think. You got this. How do you stay motivated?

Well said, Lisa! I stay motivated by looking back and forward. Back to remember how far I’ve come and forward because I’m still progressing after all this time – the gift of fitness just keeps on giving!
I really like that expression – “the gift of fitness”. It really is a gift you are giving yourself.
Good words!
Thanks 🙂
This is great! I had a tough week last week and this is an awesome reminder. Thanks!
Hope this week is better for you
Thanks! Same to you 🙂
I cant look back, all i see is those macdonalds wraps mmmmm. But seriously lisa, you look pretty nice now, but why dont you give yourself a break, you look like a mum who is looking after a baby, so9me weight after childbirth is normal and healthy
I guess you’re right. It’s just tough looking at pictures from times in my life when I felt so unhealthy.
I did not know that you were overweight. You can totally relate. That’s awesome!

Thanks. It’s funny, people I meet now had no idea I was ever heavy.
This one of the reasons I read your blog. You use your past to motivate, inspire and encourage. Thank you! I needed this today.
You just made my day. Thanks 🙂
Scary – it’s like you read my mind. Thanks for the motivation.
