Progress Pics and a Mild Panic Attack
It’s four (4) weeks until the fitness competition and over the weekend I had a mild panic attack when I started watching YouTube videos and realized: (a) my music was too slow, and (b) I have to do bikini poses instead of figure poses for the fitness division, and (c) I still don’t have my splits down. YIKES!
I briefly considered switching from fitness to figure or bikini, but then I remembered that I’m doing this dance routine for my 40th birthday challenge and I can’t let myself down. Plus, I’m doing this for the fun of it – just to see if I can do it; not to win the Ms. Fitness title or anything, which is WAAAAAY out of my league anyway.
Today I worked with the choreographer, Brenna Wilder, at Inner Diva Studios. We took some of the dance steps from the first song and incorporated more fitness moves, and additionally created a character for the dance, so I feel more confident today. Now I need to practice it a billion gazillion times.
Megan Winzierl, the owner of Artista Active Wear and the woman who did my pole dancing bikinis, is doing my costume for the fitness dance, plus adding a little bling bling to my original posing bikini. I’m meeting with her tomorrow, so I’m really excited.
I’ll writing about the posing in another post. I still have to watch more YouTube videos. As for my splits…I’m working on them! I’m religiously doing the Alethea Austin “Pure Splits” video five times a week. But the results are so hit and miss. One day I can almost get a full split, the next day I’m a foot from the ground! Grr…
Here are my progress pics:
How about you? Did you ever panic before a competition?

Lisa- Call me any time. If you are doing Bikini style poses, I assume you are doing MuscleMania. I did MM before NPC. I’m happy to help if you need it!
Thanks!!! Will call you later today 🙂
Your splits are looking good. Imagine if you win!
Thanks! That would be quite the upset, hee hee
