Fearless February

One of the blogs I follow, The Mommelah, recently posted a check-in to her New Year’s Resolutions.  It then occurred to me that I usually print up monthly goals, but was so distracted by my birthday, I forgot.  Oops.  Better late than never!Goals

Goals for Fearless February

  1. Nail my pole dance audition video.  This ties into my first New Year’s Resolution, which is to enter a pole dancing competition.  This is a harder goal than it seems when you consider: A) I got no game, B) I can’t dance, and C) I just fell off the pole yesterday.  Not to brag, but when you ask your teacher how your dance looks and she tells you, “You look worried when you dance,” well, that’s pretty special.

  2. Do a back walk over by myself.  This ties into my second New Year’s Resolution, to enter the fitness division of a bodybuilding competition.  I had to switch from an NPC show to a Fitness Universe show because I just can’t do the straddle hold yet, as required by the NPC.  Fitness Universe has no mandatory moves, just wants to see 2 minutes of awesome, so I’m learning beginner gymnastics.  I’m so close to getting this one down!  If I can just do this one thing it will feel like I’m making progress.
  3. Find my Buffy pictures/Finish edits for my book.  Two years ago I entered a bikini competition as a last-ditch effort to lose 50 lbs.  It worked!  So I’m writing a book about it.  Kind of like Pumping Iron meets I Love Lucy; ultimately it is a Rocky for moms.  One of the things I refer to in the book is “My Buffy Weight” – which was when I did an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and weighed 107 lbs.  For the life of me I can’t find my pictures from my time on the set!  I plan to put those pics in the book, so I’ve been tearing my closets apart looking for them.  Also, I need to type up the final edits before my editor pulls her hair out in frustration with me.  (Sorry, Jamie!)

How about you?  How are your New Year’s resolutions going? Remember, they are called New Year’s resolutions, not I-tried-them-in-January-and-then-gave-up-resolutions.  If you slipped up, start over.  The year is still young.  Be one of the 8% who keeps their resolutions!

Stick to your Resolutions!
