50

Holy moly I’m half a century years old! I’m actually pretty happy about it.

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now you know that every year for my birthday I do something to scare myself. It’s kind of like having a bucket list only instead of doing a hundred things and then dropping dead I do one thing per year and then eat cake.

My annual birthday scare led me to doing some of the following things: running marathons, starting a blog, entering a bodybuilding competition, doing 5 minutes of stand-up comedy, getting cast on a reality-TV show with John Cena, jumping out of a plane, learning how to pole dance, running a Spartan mud run, and doing THE LIFT from Dirty Dancing with my husband. (Ask me if he wanted to play the Patrick Swayze role. He did not.)

There are some things that keep rolling over on my to-do list, like learning guitar, decluttering my house and doing a fitness competition with a dance routine. I can officially announce that I’m training for the fitness competition right now and it will take place this summer. Yay! I’ll keep you posted, especially on Instagram.

The other big goal I’ve been working on since 2020 (but wanted to do since I was a child) is publishing my first novel. Well, finally, FINALLY, I finished! And I’m thrilled to be able to do the book cover reveal on my 50th birthday.

Set in 1739 “To Rescue a Witch” is about an abused girl accused of witchcraft who is defended by a man married…to an actual witch.

Here is the cover reveal with presale link on Amazon for $4.99.

The official book release will be on March 4. More news to come on that in future posts.

50 is a big milestone. Here’s my birthday scare:

Get back into acting.

I’m starting small. I’m going to do the narration for the Audible version of my book and play all the female roles. I love telling stories. It brings me such joy and I hope that I’ll be able to make my story come alive for people who are more into listening than reading.

You only live once, and based on family genetics, I’m officially over the hill. For as long as I’m on this earth, however, I plan to live out loud.

Thanks for following my blog. I truly appreciate all the comments, DMs and likes you’ve sent through the years.

Lisa 😉
