Motivational Quotes To Get You To The Gym

Some days the alarm just seems to ring too early.  Plus, the days are getting colder, you’re really, really tired, and it’s Thursday.  Everyone knows that Thursday is international snooze button day, right?

When you’re feeling zero motivation, keep these quotes nearby and let them help drag you out of bed and into the gym.

You are only one workout away from a good mood.  I like this quote because a) I find it to be accurate and b) I hate being grumpy.

Today I have to  get to workout.  I like this quote because it reminds me what a privilege it is to have functioning arms and legs and a body that isn’t sick in a hospital bed.  Your body is a blessing so use it wisely.

Oh, it hurts?  Keep going!  It’s just your body changing!  Let’s face it:  Running sucks.  Weight lifting sucks.  It makes you tired and sore.  But that soreness is evidence of your muscle fibers breaking down with the knowledge that they will build back stronger.  When your muscles feel sore, say yay! because stuff is happening.

Time to Kill Some Fat.  Not only do I like this because it’s kind of funny, I like that it helps to compartmentalize things so your focus stops being about beating yourself up and is redirected towards achieving your goal of fat loss.  Along the same line is “sweat is fat crying”.

Whatever works for you use it as a mantra.  Turn motivation into habits and eventually your habits become a healthy lifestyle.

Be healthy.

  1. I have a quote of sorts that I always use on myself. It’s good for when you’re feeling tired or like you might have a bad workout if you go to the gym that day – “Any workout is better than NO workout!”

It’s great because it’s actually true! And most of the time the workout doesn’t even end up being bad.
