Proud of You

March 2012

It’s my second training session this week.   In an attempt to redeem myself in my trainer’s good graces I updated the food log.  I also finally got my act together and drove to the vitamin shop and got my supplements yesterday.  It was the fastest $100 I ever spent.

I warmed up on the treadmill and headed over to the trainer area.   “How you feeling this morning?” he asked as I typed in my code to the computer.

“Good.”

“Do you have any questions about the supplements?”

“When do I get to use fat burners?”

He laughed.  “Not yet.”  He grabs the clipboard with my workout routine.

“But I still need to lose fat, right?  Won’t they help?”

“Just use the creatine and Isopure for now.  I’ll let you know when you’re ready for fat burners.  Just trust me.”

Gah!

He walks over to the cable press down, where I injured myself last week.  “Today, I just want to go through and correct your form.  How does your shoulder feel?”

“It’s ok now.  Thank God for chiropractors,” I smiled.

“Show me what you did.”

I put the 60 lb. weight on and started to pull.

“Whoa!  That’s too heavy!  You know, you can get just as good a workout with lighter weight and proper form.”

I started to laugh out loud.

“What?” he was totally confused.

“That’s exactly what my husband said.  He’s been right about everything so far.”

Daniel started to laugh.  “Oh, you can’t tell him I said that or you’ll never live it down.”

“I know.”

He put 40 lbs. on and made sure my back was aligned right.  “You’re getting a lot stronger.”

“That creatine works fast, huh?”

“It’s not even in your system yet.  This is just you.  I checked your log.  You went off a little last week but you’re back on track.  I’m proud of you, Lisa.”

I smiled.  I felt kind of proud of myself too.
