Home Workout

COVID-19 keeping you away from the gym?  Me too, and I’m a personal trainer!  Don’t let coronavirus get you down.  Exercise is a great way to boost your immunity system, gets your endorphins released so you feel good, and forces you away from 24/7 coverage of Costco being sold out of toilet paper.

Here’s a workout excerpt from my newest book, “The S.L.I. Method, A Foundation for Your Belly, Brain and Body” (available on Amazon).  It’s one that you can do at home and doesn’t require any machines.

Cardio Sculpt – Lower Body with plyo moves

Plyo exercises involve jumping between the start and the end position to build more power in your muscles. They can be quite challenging.  If you are a beginner or have knee issues, skip the jumping, and just do the standard exercise.

If you want to challenge yourself, use dumbbells or a barbell stick where indicated, otherwise they can be done as bodyweight exercises.

Exercise Time/Reps
Pop squats 1 minutes
Planks 1 minute
Jumping lunges 1 minutes
Side planks with rotation 30 seconds each side
Jump squats on step 1 minutes
Crunches with 10 lb. plate 1 minute
Barbell curtsey squats 1 minutes
Reverse crunches 1 minute

Go through this entire circuit once with no breaks between exercises. When you complete the circuit, rest for two minutes. Repeat the circuit for a total of three times.

Remember to listen to your body and ask a doctor before you begin this or any exercise program.

FYI – The book comes with two suggested meal plans, an 8-week workout plan with a photo library explaining each exercise, plus tons of tips and tricks to tone up and boost your energy.

Enjoy!
