I Just Did Stand Up Comedy on Live TV
Remember how I told you that I was going to be on Great Day Houston to talk about American Grit and my book, “She’s Losing It!” about how I lost 50 lbs. by entering a bodybuilding bikini competition?
And remember how I told you that every year for my birthday I do something to scare myself and this year I was going to try stand up comedy?
Well, the host, Deborah Duncan, asked me to do a little bit of my routine RIGHT THERE! ‘Cause when you’ve never done stand up comedy before the very best place to practice open mic is on live TV.
OMG!!! It was so much fun!!! I think I will keep my day job, but what an awesome opportunity. And since her birthday is coming up I asked her what fear she was going to face and you won’t believe what happens next…
Here is the full interview.
Talk about a birthday scare!
Thank you so much Deborah for letting me practice my stand up comedy!
I’ll be continuing my crazy week now. I stopped in for lunch with my daughter after driving back from Houston and now I’m on the way to the airport to NYC! Tomorrow I get interviewed for Muscle & Fitness Hers, Friday I’ll film for Bikini.com and Saturday I have my next bikini competition – The Texas Shredder – where I get to do the full five minutes of stand up comedy!
If these opportunities seem totally crazy for a 42 year old mom (they do to me too!) just remember that only 3 years ago I was borderline obese and sitting in my car sobbing about my life.
My point here is that if I hadn’t pushed myself to get out of my comfort zone I’d still be crying about my life. I’m not crying now. And if you are not living a life that makes you passionate and joyful, then I challenge you to push yourself outside your own limits.
Because if I can change my life you absolutely can too.
