Thanksgiving and Black Friday Shopping

Yesterday was Thanksgiving, a day of reflection of the simple things we are grateful for: family, health and friendship. Today it’s all about the sales. Black Friday is so named because it’s the day that retailers go out of “the red” (where their cash flow shows losses) and into “the black” (where they are making profits.)

What’s different about Black Friday this year is that it is no longer just an American thing – retailers are having Black Friday sales in England.  Which is kind of ironic, considering they clearly don’t celebrate Thanksgiving.

Let’s do a quick summary of Thanksgiving and a look ahead to Christmas:

Things I’m #Grateful For:

  • My mom is out of the hospital
  • My brother made it safely from snowy New Jersey

    My son, brother and mother
    My son, brother and mother
  • My kids and husband are happy and healthy
  • 24 Fitness was open Thanksgiving morning so I could do preemptive cardio
  • All my friends, especially those who got to celebrate Baby’s 1st Thanksgiving

    Jacob's 1st Thanksgiving
    Baby’s 1st Thanksgiving
