What Would You Ask Andie MacDowell?

Have you ever wanted to ask a famous person, someone you admire, a question?  Or a few?  Andie MacDowell, actress of such movies as Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Groundhog Day and Four Weddings and a Funeral, will be speaking at Prevention’s R3 Summit in Austin on October 18 and Prevention is wondering what you want to ask her.

She’ll be speaking in two panels; the first about ways to “Refresh, Revive and Reinvent” yourself (that’s where ‘R3’ comes from;) the second is “Love Your Age.”  Did I mention that she’s also been the spokesperson for L’Oreal for the past 29 years (she’s 56 years old now)?

Here are some questions I would like to ask her:

  • Sometimes it’s difficult to overcome perceived failures.  When you were cast in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, your lines were dubbed by Glenn Close because your southern accent was too pronounced.  How did you revive your career after that, and what advice would you give to people wanting to reinvent themselves?
  • Alright Ms. L’Oreal spokes model:  ever since I turned 40 my hair has become dry, dry, dry.  Do you have any tips to fix this?
  • Hollywood is notoriously tough on middle aged women, assigning “sexy roles” primarily to women in their 20’s and 30’s while women older than that only seem to play mothers in sweaters.  Do you think this trend is changing, and what can we expect to see in your upcoming role in the Magic Mike sequel?

How about you?  What would you ask Andie MacDowell?  Let me know by noon tomorrow (10/3/14) and I will forward your question to Prevention Magazine.

Lisa ;)
