Cupcake ATMS?
Did you ever have an insatiable desire to have a cupcake RIGHT NOW? Well, you’re in luck because a cupcake ATM could be coming to a city near you. For real.
Sprinkles Cupcakes is setting up ATMs where people can insert credit cards and purchase up to four cupcakes at at time in a variety of fun flavors (Chocolate! Vanilla! Red velvet! Cuban coffee!) The bakery is backed in part by private equity KarpReilly, who also backed restaurant chains like Hooters LLC and Marie Calendars LLC.
The newest cupcake ATM opens in NYC on Tuesday; there are already ones in Beverly Hills, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and Las Vegas.
And you wonder why Americans are fat…
It made it to David Letterman’s 10 Ten List (the list begins around the 2 minute mark, and is pretty funny.)
It’s good this machine is not in Austin. It might be an ugly situation for me. Would you ever go to a cupcake ATM?
