Day #12 – What Music Inspires Your Workouts?
Music seems to draw upon our emotions and can really motivate you to push past a hard set. Conversely, seriously lame music does not help.
For example, if you are trying to bust out a set of incline chest presses, don’t listen to Frank Sinatra. Running sprints? Probably “Horse With No Name” is not going to increase your speed. But see, hypothetically, that’s what happens when your iPod falls into the jacuzzi at 24 and even after it dries out is a little pissed with you and won’t play what you want it to play.
Hopefully my iPod will decide to like me again so I can listen to the following:
- Back/biceps – Eminem
- 400 lunges – Foster the People
- Chest/triceps – 2Pac’s Greatest Hits
- Glutes – Katy Perry
- Walking Treadmill – U2/I Feel Numb
How about you? What music motivates you?

Yes, but while lifting weights? 😉
Music really can make or break a workout. http://onthegofitness.wordpress.com/2012/11/12/technology-and-fitness-make-a-great-pair/

Eek! I am so behind! Can I blame the fact that we’re in different time zones?!
